Aim

To equip pharmacists with the foundational clinical skills in blood pressure (BP) measurement to support patient assessment and informed clinical decision making.

Learning outcomes

Having attended this workshop, you will be able to:
  • Demonstrate accurate measurement of BP using a sphygmomanometer and an automated BP monitor
  • Interpret BP readings and take appropriate action based on the results
  • Take a structured and comprehensive patient-centred medical history, identifying red flags and relevant past medical information
  • Apply clinical reasoning skills to integrate information from clinical observations and medical history to inform safe and effective decision making.
