Aim

To outline the Falsified Medicines Directive (FMD) highlighting the systems used and how it applies to Community Pharmacy in NI.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this course you should be able to:
  • Understand FMD and how it applies to community pharmacy
  • Describe the role of SecurMed and NVMS
  • Explain the decommissioning process including checking safety features
  • Recognise common error codes and how to interpret them
  • Have a better understanding of medicines licensing and how this could affect FMD.
