Aim
To optimise patient outcomes by equipping pharmacists to provide a comprehensive pharmaceutical service to patients suffering from depression.

Intended learning outcomes
Having completed this workshop you should be able to:

• describe the pathophysiology and diagnosis of depression
• recognise the signs and symptoms of the condition
• apply the principles of the NICE guidelines for depression to the management of patients with the condition
• recognise the value of both pharmacological and non-pharmacological management options
• identify the advice and information of patients prescribed medication for depression.
