Aim
By providing an overview of acute kidney injury, allow pharmacists to optimise the use of medicines to avoid or prevent harm and reduce the risk of AKI.

Intended learning outcomes
Having completed this workshop you should be able to:

• understand the role of the kidneys in normal physiological function
• define the causes of acute kidney injury
• identify those individuals at risk of developing AKI
• competently identify symptoms of AKI and recommend treatment options
• monitor patients who have had medication held due to AKI
• consider the impact of medication, both prescribed and over-the-counter on kidney function.

Additional information
This one night regional course is 'open access' which means that pharmacists and pharmacy technicians need not apply to attend but simply turn up at the venue on the given date. PLEASE NOTE THE START TIME OF 7:30PM.
