Aim
To equip pharmacists with the necessary competence in delivering brief interventions relating to smoking, alcohol and physical activity.

Intended learning outcomes
Having completed this workshop you should be able to:

• define what is meant by brief intervention
• apply the model of behavior change to your practice
• outline the principles of effective communication
• highlight the risks of smoking tobacco, consuming excess alcohol or physical inactivity with patients/clients as part of routine practice
• signpost patients and their carers to appropriate support services.

Additional information
This two-night regional course is 'open access' which means that pharmacists and pharmacy technicians need not apply to attend but simply turn up at the venue on the given date. PLEASE NOTE THE START TIME OF 7:30PM.
