Aim
To examine the management of head lice and threadworms under the Minor Ailments Service in Northern Ireland.

Intended learning outcomes
Having completed this course you should be able to:

• discuss the features, transmission and complications of head lice infection
• list the questions to ask about a person presenting with features of head lice infection
• correctly diagnose head lice infectionselect an appropriate product for supply via the Minor Ailments Service for the management of head lice
• describe the features and transmission of threadworms
• list the questions to ask about a person presenting with features of threadworm infection
• recommend appropriate measures to be taken to prevent re-infection
• select an appropriate product for supply via the Minor Ailments Service for the management of threadworm infection.
