Aim
To examine the management of osteoarthritis in adults, emphasising a rational approach to therapy, with a view to improving the use of prescription and non-prescription medication to ensure satisfactory outcomes.

• Describe the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis
• Discuss the drug therapy available and indicate the principles of rational drug choice
