Aim
To provide an overview of current best practice in the management of actute coronary syndromes.

Intended learning outcomes
Having completed this course you should be able to:

• Identify risk factors associated with developing ischaemic heart disease
• Define ischaemic heart conditions that make up acute coronary syndromes
• Relate changes on the electrocardiogram (ECG) to myocardial damage
• Describe the early management of acute coronary syndromes
• Manage the arrhythmias that can occur following damage to the myocardium
• Discuss the long-term treatment to prevent recurrance of coronary events.
