Aim
To provide an overview of current best practice in the management of actute coronary syndromes.
Intended learning outcomes
Having completed this course you should be able to:
- Identify risk factors associated with developing ischaemic heart disease
- Define ischaemic heart conditions that make up acute coronary syndromes
- Relate changes on the electrocardiogram (ECG) to myocardial damage
- Describe the early management of acute coronary syndromes
- Manage the arrhythmias that can occur following damage to the myocardium
- Discuss the long-term treatment to prevent recurrance of coronary events.
