Aim
This course has been updated to reflect current NICE guidelines on the management of dyspepsia.

Intended learning outcomes
Having completed this course you should be able to:

• list the possible causes of dyspepsia
• recognise alarm features of dyspepsia warranting early referral
• critically evaluate the role of NSAIDs in upper gastrointestinal disease and make recommendations for strategies to prevent this complication
• describe the causes and management of gastro-oesophageal reflux
• identify specific patients in whom Helicobactor pylori eradication may alleviate symptoms.
